Having created 113 types of drinks to sell, a vendor at the Kuala Besut Ramadan Bazaar in Terengganu is raking in a fortune through her 7-lot stall at the bazaar.
According to a report by Utusan Malaysia, 29-year-old Suriane Abdullah shared that she created 30 more flavours of drinks to sell this year, as compared to last year, to offer more choices to customers. Among the drinks are 40 types of flavoured drinks, 50 types of mixed flavoured drinks, 7 types of boba drinks, 8 types of ‘float’ drinks, and more.

“I took the risk because the varieties can be said to be the largest as compared to other drink vendors at Ramadan bazaars around this district. However, with the enthusiasm and strategic location obtained this year, I increased the variety of drinks sold and Alhamdulillah, the response has been encouraging,” she shared.
Encouraging may be an understatement as she has been selling around 3,000 cups and plastic-packed drinks a day, leading to sales of RM7,000 a day, which is said to be a 7-time increase compared to normal days.
She makes a new batch every day
She added that 200kg of sugar is used every day to make the drinks and that the water and sugar used are boiled thoroughly to kill any bacteria present.
“To ensure that the level of cleanliness is guaranteed, the water and sugar are boiled first to prevent poisoning and diarrhoea. In addition, the drinks are made to run out every day and are not stored for long because new drinks are freshly brewed every day,”
“If they are not sold out, I will distribute it to bazaar visitors or to nearby mosques for people to break their fasts,” she explained.
