There is a myriad of ways to market your business to make it more appealing than others. For a durian seller in Terengganu, he uses the opportunity to show off his muscular body by going shirtless while selling durians.

While his method may have brought him a lot of money, the religious department in Terengganu is not really fond of his idea, and they’ve got their eyes on him. The Senior Chief Assistant Commissioner of Terengganu’s Religious Department Affairs, Zahari Sulong asked the man to put his shirt back on and stop going shirtless for his business.

“This is to protect his image and avoid himself from being defamed,” Zahari told the media.

For Muslim men, the parts that should be covered are from the belly button to the knees. While the muscular durian vendor covered his aurat, Zahari said that it’ll be better for the man to cover his body, and it’s not just about protecting his image.

“We should also protect our dignity, which will hopefully bring more fortune to our businesses.”

It is also revealed that the viral muscular man once held the title of Mr. Body Cantik for 3 consecutive years since 2017.

Put your shirt on or go to jail

Yes, you read that right. In Terengganu, there is a law under Section 35, Terengganu Syariah Law Enactment that states about exposing your body publicly. Anyone who exposes their body that leads to arousal in others is a punishable offense and if found guilty, he/she can be fined up to Rm3,000 or face a jail time of not more than 2 years.

The durian seller recently went viral on social media after shirtless videos and images of him selling durian circulated. Well, we’re not judging how he conducts his business but it’s best for us to follow the rules in the state to avoid unnecessary troubles.

Regardless, we wish the man nothing but the best in his durian business!
