The Queen Consort to the Sultan of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, attended the Sustainable Economy Programme at the Car Boot Sale (CBS) in Kota Damansara, where she was welcomed by the local authorities of the state.

The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) took to their Facebook page to showcase Her Majesty’s attendance at the event and even highlighted how Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin had participated in the Car Boot Sales itself by selling her pre-loved clothing items for RM5!

They wrote, “Her Majesty also agreed to participate in the sale of ‘pre-loved’ goods with Persatuan Suri dan Anggota Wanita Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (PUSPANITA), IRIS Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ), Persatuan Keluarga Polis (PERKEP) Selangor, Persatuan Isteri dan Pegawai Wanita Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat (PERISMA) Selangor, as well as personality, Hieda Natasya, with prices starting as low as RM5, thus fuelling the culture of recycling, circular economy and sustainable lifestyle practices in the community.”
The Car Boot Sale (CBS) programme has become an icon of sustainable development in Petaling Jaya, with the continued support of the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, together with state agencies, local leadership and the community.
