A young couple, a 19-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were killed in an accident while they were riding a motorcycle downhill from Cameron Highlands on Thursday (August 7), after a holiday with another couple, who were also riding on a motorcycle.
According to a report by Kwong Wah, Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin shared that the motorcycle the couple was riding had lost control and swerved into a lorry on the oncoming traffic lane.

The collision with the lorry, in which the driver tried to brake and avoid them but failed, ultimately led to the couple’s demise. The accident took place at a curve, while it was raining and the road was slippery.
Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin also highlighted that the deceased male rider’s license had expired for 8 months.

The other couple they were travelling with, a 19-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were also involved in the accident as they tried to avoid the motorcycle that had lost control and ended up crashing into a ditch. Thankfully, they only suffered minor injuries.
