It has been more than a week since 22-year-old Chia Min Yong was last seen in Setapak and never heard of again. Despite multiple attempts and circulations on social media, as well as the help from Singaporean actor Wang Lei, her whereabouts remain unknown.
Over the days, there have been lots of speculations about Min Yong’s disappearance, including the possibility of a kidnapping. Just today (13 April), Min Yong’s boyfriend posted a series of Instagram stories and sent a “message” to the alleged kidnappers.
“I beg you, let my girlfriend go. If you need someone, take me instead.”
In another story that was posted yesterday, he urged the public to take pictures of Min Yong if they happen to spot her and contact him immediately.
“I can’t take this anymore and I can’t do this alone. I really beg all of you to take pictures of her and send to me, or contact the police.”
In the screenshot below, he spread the word of Min Yong’s family to the alleged kidnappers.
“Please let Min Yong go so she can reunite with us. As long as she returns home safely, as a family, we promise not to investigate further and not to disclose any information.”
The family also urged the kidnappers, or at least anyone who knows her location to inform them of her whereabouts. They will personally pick Min Yong up from the given location.
Last week, Min Yong left her house suddenly and told her mom via text messages to not contact her as she would do so once she has settled down. Her car was last seen in Setapak and since then, there have been no updates from her.
If you have any information that might help, do contact the family or Min Yong’s uncle at 0162083194 (Mr Sim).
Wherever she may be, we truly wish Min Yong is safe from any form of harm.
