There’s no denying the wonder of living in Malaysia. While many locals who grew up and currently live here may seem rather unimpressed by regular day-to-day life, others who come from far and wide discover things about our country that make it very hard to leave when the time comes to depart.
Tajikistani content creator Sabrina Dulloeva previously lived in Malaysia for an extended period of time, documenting her life and experiences of how much she truly admired and enjoyed living in our nation. However, the creator shared news a while back to her TikTok page @sabdulloeva that she returned to her country of nationality, Tajikistan.
In a short clip recently posted to her account, Dulloeva spoke on some of the things she misses from Malaysia since returning to Tajikistan.
“The first thing I miss is bathing every day. In Tajikistan, it’s currently snowing, so we don’t shower every day. We normally shower either once every 2 weeks or once every week. The last time I took a shower, I was sick for 1 week. That’s what happens if you shower daily during winter time in Tajikistan,” said Dulloeva in fluent Malay during the video.
Continuing on, Dulloeva also stated that she misses wearing just one layer of clothing, as she has to wear at least 2 to 3 layers of clothes in Tajikistan due to the cold weather.
“Right now, I’m wearing 3 layers and it feels extremely heavy. My weight is normally around 37kgs, but when I dress like this, I automatically become 40 to 45 kilos,” added Dulloeva.
Speaking on the 3rd and final matter she misses from Malaysia, Dulloeva also mentioned that in Tajikistan, people are not used to giving vehicles hand signals when crossing streets or roads.
“There’s no such thing here. After 2 seconds, you’d become roti canai on the road,” said Dulloeva at the end of her video.
In a previous TikTok video, Dulloeva explained that while she is from Tajikistan, her entire family resides in Malaysia. Her biological mother, who is also from Tajikistan, married a Malaysian native and therefore resides here. At this point in time, Dulloeva is residing in Tajikistan with her grandparents.
Contrasting the vast differences in experience, many Malaysians also spoke on comparing the weather of Tajikistan to our home, with some users saying that while Malaysia is hitting blisteringly hot temperatures at this point in time, they’d not want to be in the cold either.
“It’s so hot here, but when I watch this video, I immediately feel cold!” commented one user.
Another user who resides in Norway spoke on the similarity of conditions when it pertains to the cold weather of Tajikistan, adding that she uses a water heater when bathing so she doesn’t miss out on her daily showers. Nevertheless, Dulloeva revealed that such an amenity is not present for many homes in Tajikistan.
“In Norway, many homes have water heaters. But here, we don’t. If we showered every day, then we’d have to sleep in a house that doesn’t have heating as well,” enlightened Dulloeva.
