We Malaysians tend to laugh in the face of people who call Tabasco “spicy”, but there’s a high chance we won’t be laughing now. Tabasco has a new sauce called the Scorpion Sauce, and it’s apparently the spiciest sauce they have made, EVER. It’s so spicy it’s 20x hotter than the original!!!

Tabasco calls it “the hottest sauce available from the McIlhenny Company,” and they totally weren’t kidding.
Reviews from people who have tried the sauce range from “My kind of hot!” to “It feels like the devil’s inferno cascading down your esophagus.”
So what exactly is it made from?
The Scorpion Sauce has the scorpion pepper, which is THE SECOND HOTTEST pepper in the world (the first one being the California Reaper).

There’s also a mix of pineapple, guava, and a hint of the original Tabasco, according to a Tabasco press release.
So basically, if you’re the kind of person that always asks for extra cili padi potong on your mee mamak or nasi goreng cina, then you definitely need to check this sauce out. It’s apparently tangy with an overtone of Caribbean sweetness, and of course, so spicy that it can only be eaten by the brave and bold.
Think we’re over-reacting? There’s even scientific evidence, bro.
On the Scoville scale (measurement for chili spiciness), the Tabasco peppers clock in at 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville Units, The Scorpion Pepper? Well, they run up to 2 million Scoville Units!

Well then, we have slightly bad news. The sauce was so epic, it’s literally SOLD OUT on Tabasco’s website.

Also, it is still unknown if the sauce will be back in stock. So we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled, because we all know how Malaysians are practically the badasses when it come to spiciness.
So for the heat enthusiasts, you might have to get creative to track down a bottle for yourself. A quick search on eBay shows that there are sellers carrying the sauce, but due to the limited supply and high demand, the prices are definitely marked up.
But not to worry! With this amount of hype for the sauce, it’s only a matter of time before Tabasco restocks or even come up with an even spicier sauce to blow your brains out.
