Certain things need money to happen. Even when it comes to election campaigns, politicians need to fork out some money for elections campaigns aimed at enticing potential voters too.
As for the political party MUDA, they’re thinking out of the box to raise funds for the upcoming state polls – selling Otak-otak Muar.
Instead of relying on donations from the public, the youth-centric political party decided to work for themselves. However, they won’t be setting up a physical store around town for their small business.
It’ll be an online business where platforms like TikTok and Facebook will be utilised to attract customers. The co-founder of MUDA, Syed Saddiq said that the business will not focus solely on Otak-otak Muar.
“I will be selling the snack but it’s not my only effort. Other team members of MUDA will sell what they can, such as sneakers or even their assets.”
He assured that it is not only a “Syed Saddiq initiative” because members at all levels will also be involved in the crowdfunding activities. The earnings will be deposited to MUDA’s official bank account.
Saddiq added that Muda was aiming to contest less than 10% of the seats up for grabs in the coming state elections due soon for Selangor, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
Kudos to Saddiq and the team for thinking out of the box to raise funds for the coming state elections. Do you think MUDA will stand a chance in the upcoming polls?
