Talentbank’s Graduate Employability Index, Malaysia’s most trusted employer-driven benchmark for assessing graduate employability, has recently released the 2026 National Graduate Employability Index.
The Index evaluates graduates from higher education institutions across Malaysia based on comprehensive employer surveys, including preferred universities for recruitment, hiring volume, and future hiring intentions. For the fifth consecutive year, Sunway University has emerged as the top university in Malaysia for graduate employability.

This comes after Sunway University’s latest recognition by AppliedHE as the #1 Private University in Southeast Asia, marking its third consecutive year leading regional private higher education in ASEAN. The University has also achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, climbing to the 301–350 band globally. These accomplishments reaffirm Sunway University’s status as the top non-government-linked private university in Malaysia and ASEAN, reflecting its strong research impact, high graduate employability, and global outlook.

Professor Sibrandes Poppema, President and Vice Chancellor of Sunway University, said, “Being recognised as Malaysia’s top university for graduate employability for the fifth consecutive year is a proud moment for Sunway University. As a mission-driven, 5th-generation university, we are committed to delivering industry-relevant education, nurturing future-ready talent, and fostering meaningful partnerships that empower our graduates to thrive in a rapidly evolving global workforce. This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, faculty, and partners in driving impact through knowledge and innovation.”

One of the key drivers behind this accolade is Sunway University’s vision of nurturing well-rounded, future-ready leaders through its Success X-Factor Coaching initiative. This signature programme connects students with educators, industry professionals, and senior leaders who offer valuable insights, real-world perspectives, and mentorship.
Together, they form a strong support network that empowers students to navigate challenges, unlock their potential, and confidently prepare for success beyond graduation.
