In KL, especially around areas where there are LRT or MRT stations, traffic is always congested there as there will be lots of cars parked by the curb waiting for passengers.

The ADUN of Subang Jaya, Michelle Ng Mei Sze has said in a Twitter thread that recently some barriers were erected along the Subang Jaya LRT and the reason for that is so that buses can come through.

“For a while now, buses would often get stuck due to cars waiting for passengers by the road, therefore affecting the reliability of its services.”

With public transport users in mind, she added that LRT commuters can reach their destinations using the Smart Selangor Bus via route SJ01 or Kumpool and Mobi which you can start using once you have downloaded and installed their respective apps.

“With over 200 stops in Subang Jaya, public transport is made a lot more accessible.”

As she has been re-elected as the ADUN for Subang Jaya, she mentioned that her goal is to “have Subang Jaya more accessible to public transport which, at the same time, would contribute to carbon emission reduction.”

In order to achieve her goal, she has asked for the negative space to be converted into walkways, bicycles and e-mobility lanes. At the same time, she is also working with MBSJ to bring BEAM, an e-scooter service provider to Subang Jaya.

This certainly sounds like it will make things better for public transport users. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments below.
