When any of us are far away from home, it’s hard not to miss the culture that makes Malaysia home to us wherever we go.

However, one Malaysian seems to have captured a bit of home recently after she made a trip to a Malaysian restaurant in London called Melur. Malaysian student Lilisan, who is currently studying Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics (LSE), documented the moment, sharing it on her TikTok account @lilisan0_o.

In the clip, Lilisan revealed that a plate of Nasi Lemak cost her £15 (approximately RM87). The dish itself came with coconut rice, a half-boiled egg, roasted nuts, fried anchovies, slices of cucumber, sambal, and pieces of fried chicken.

Showing her surroundings, Melur had a giant Malaysian flag hung in the store, and tiny flags of each Malaysian state around the restaurant as well.

One of her other friends was served tom yam soup in a cup, while another friend had a generous plate of char kuey teow. At the end of the clip, Lilisan revealed that overall, the entire group approved of the Malaysian food from Melur.

Many Malaysians who have been or reside in London quickly took to the comments section to suggest more places for Lilisan and her friends to try Malaysian food.

Nevertheless, there was one commenter who stated that no matter where we go, Malaysian nasi lemak will always remain supreme.
