Just today, it was revealed that former Prime Minister and National Rehabilitation Council (MPN) chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
He took to his Twitter page to announce the news.
He wrote, “I tested positive for the Covid-19 virus this morning, after doing a Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test. Alhamdullillah, I only experienced mild symptoms and am in good condition.”
He has since been placed under self-quarantine.
“According to the protocol of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), I will undergo self-quarantine at home. To anyone who is likely to be my close contact, I advise you to adhere to the protocols set by the MOH. Please pray for my health and my family,” he added.
And while many did share their thoughts and prayers, others were quick to troll ‘Abah’ (Muhyiddin), especially following MPN’s decision to open international borders soon.
“I suggest we open international borders straight to Abah’s home.”
“I hope that the plan to open the borders are postponed first, unless you want to open the borders straight to Tan Sri’s house then I agree by 200%. Whatever it is, get well soon.”
“Abah, share it with your friends too, don’t get infected by yourself.”
“I hope Tan Sri gets well soon, maybe it’s best to you just rest at home until forever while you do some gardening, praying while watching Upin & Ipin. For politicians, I heard that the quarantine period is 36 months.”
Some even joked that he should ‘stay positive’
“Hope you continue to be positive, Tan Sri.”
“Alhamdulillah, I hope you are always positive-positive.”
While some of these comments did come off quite funny, let’s not wish anyone ill.
Hope Muhyiddin and everyone who has tested positive recover soon.
