That’s because starting 1st May 2019, Public Bank will charge RM1 for each hard copy statement in a bid to be more environmentally friendly. Many other banks have also jumped on the bandwagon and started to go paperless, which is great for the environment.

It’s actually really easy to register for the PB E-Statement because you can do it online through your PBE account by clicking on “E-Statement Registration”. Choose the account that you want to receive an e-statement and then just follow the instructions to activate your e-statement. That’s it and you’re done! Alternatively, you can also download their form here and fill up it, then hand it over at one of the branches, mail or email it to Public Bank.

Do note that if you have two credit cards or different accounts then you will be charged per account. However, not everyone will be charged for a hard copy statement because Public Bank has stated that there will be certain people who are exempted from the charge.

These are the exemptions:

  1. PB Visa Classic / Standard Mastercard Credit Cardmembers
  2. Senior citizens (60 years old and above)
  3. Disabled Cardmembers
  4. Cardmembers facing difficulties accessing their E-Statements
