Natural disasters are always something to be feared as their intensity will only be known when it happens. Sometimes, it comes in waves one after another and there will be casualties.
According to Channel News Asia, an undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck south Bali today (16th July), causing some locals and visitors to rush out of buildings.
There were no reports of casualties from the quake and there was no tsunami warning issued by the Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

It was said that people in Denpasar ran out of their houses in pajamas as soon as they felt the earth tremble.
The quake could also be felt in Lombok and Java, which are neighbouring islands as mentioned in a statement by Indonesia’s meteorology and geophysics agency.
Indonesia experiences frequent earthquakes and sometimes tsunamis as it is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Twitter users in the area have been reporting on the earthquake using the hashtags #bali #earthquake.
