If you love boba but find yourself broke most of the time because you keep spending money on it, a group of netizens from the Facebook group, subtle asian traits, just might have come up the solution to your woes!
Recently, a trio of boba lovers decided to combine the two things Asians love most in life: bubble tea and keeping track of their money.
Together, the group created a meme-based boba app so everyone can track how much they were spending on bubble tea.
“For all you boba bois and pearl girls, my friends and I made an app for you! A couple of months ago, we were seeing a lot of people posting their boba finances on spreadsheets or paper and that inspired us as boba addicts ourselves.”
The app is called Boba Watch and it allows you to keep record of your bubble tea consumption with the help of informative statistics and graphs. It lets you put a cap on how many drinks you can have every month and informs you when you’re reaching your budget for monthly boba expenses!
The user-friendly app is much more eye-catching than your average Excel spreadsheet and could actually motivate those of you who want to save and monitor how much you spend on these addictive drinks.
You can even share your bubble tea stats with your friends! Apparently, the app lets you publicise your account and share how much you spend on different bobas with a shareable link.
Not only is it an app made for convenience, the netizen says that the creators of Boba Watch are not profiting from the app at all.
“We’re not profiting from this app and are not going to. This is a meme we made for this group and hopefully something some of us can bond over. (lookin’ at the peeps who make milk tea addiction part of their personality, me included).”
The only requirements you need to own this app are: 1) To have a Facebook account 2) To have an insatiable addiction for bubble tea.
What a useful way to keep track of our finances! After all, we don’t realise how much we spend on our addictions until we actually have a record of it. If you’re thinking about giving this app a try, you can do so here.
