When we’re seated as a passenger in a car, there’s pretty much nothing left to do but to sit back and enjoy the ride.
While it’s commonly known that the passenger seat is the girlfriend seat, most girls, including myself (before this article) have acquired the habit of stretching out our legs onto the dashboard during a ride. We swear that it’s really comfortable to sit like this.

However, reports have been circulating that riding with your feet up on the dashboard presents a safety hazard to the passenger. And a very bad one at that.
What seems to be a totally harmless way of sitting actually proved to be deadly.
Fox 32 Chicago posted a picture to warn Facebook uses that sitting like so is the most dangerous position someone can be in.

The post explains that an airbag deploys at the speed of between 100 & 220 MPH. And if your feet are on the dashboard, the force of the airbag may potentially ‘send your knees through your eye sockets’.
Knock on wood, but there’s absolutely no telling when an accident may occur. Hence, people, it would be advisable NOT to ride with your feet on up on the dash.
Authorities are currently disseminating the picture to spread caution and awareness to all.
The post has also gone viral and has been shared over 338,600 times. Many have also taken to comment and share their own experience.
One user wrote, “I ride with my feet in my seat “perched” is what my grandma called it. Anyways, we were in an accident and because of the way I was sitting I fractured my nose, loosened my teeth (they secured them with a metal bar behind them) and bit through my lip so bad I severed the nerves and had 8 stitches outside and six inside. I don’t recommend sitting like this or with any type of feet in the seat. Be safe guys.”
Yikes, that sounds really painful. You heard em, so whoever sits like this, or if you know anyone that does, let them know about it now.
