Malaysia and Singapore are like siblings. We have a good amount of sibling rivalry but at the end of the day, we love each other. Once in awhile, there’ll be a few bad apples out there but most of the time, both countries will unite in criticising these irresponsible individuals, no matter where they are from.

In a recent discovery posted by SG Road Vigilante, a Singaporean driver kena kantoi while changing the number plates to his car. He was doing so while filling up on petrol in Malaysia. According to the post, the driver of the BMW had switched to a number plate belonging to a Hyundai Elantra. This is done so he will not kena saman! Worse, he’s framing someone else for his offence for speeding!

A quick check on MyEG revealed that the alleged Hyundai Elantra has been fined for speeding on 18 May but the picture caught by the speed camera shows the BMW. How despicable!

This is the reason why certain Singaporean cars that have never been to our country ended up having multiple fines from Malaysia. The post also requested anyone who knows the real owner of the Hyundai Elantra to report on this matter to the Singapore police or Malaysian High Commission.

The person who did this should be punished severely as he is framing innocent individuals. Hopefully, justice will prevail and an example can be set so that fewer cases like this will occur in the future, especially on our soil.
