Now that the interstate travel restrictions have been removed on 11 October, we’re sure many Malaysians are probably making their way back home to be with their family and friends after months of not being able to cross state borders.
So, if you are planning on heading back to your hometown and ever find yourself in a situation where your car breaks down in the middle of the highway, worry not! Here’s what you should do.
1. Move the car to the emergency lane
First off, don’t panic!
Try to get your car to the emergency lane if possible and turn on the double signal to warn others that your car has broken down.
2. Call PLUS Ronda
Once you get your car at a safe place, call PLUS Ronda (PLUS Patrol) through the helpline number: 1800-88-0000.
This is a 24-7 service by the way! Yep, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
3. Identify your location
Identify your location and let PLUS Ronda know where they can find you.
If you don’t know where you are, look out for a little green or white signboard along the highway which will indicate the kilometre you are at. By telling them the kilometre you are at, it may be much easier for them to locate you
They should reach there within 15 minutes as there are PLUS Toll technicians stationed at every Toll.
4. Free towing service
Upon checking your car, if they are unable to fix the problem, PLUS Ronda will help you tow your car to the nearest toll statin for free!
However, do take note that if you need to bring your car to the workshop, you will have to make your own arrangements.
Here are the helpline numbers if you ever find yourself in such a situation:
