Relationships would often require a lot of effort from both parties. That being said, both parties would have to sacrifice for the greater good of the relationship.
Just recently, a Malaysian girl has shared her dilemma to a Facebook confession page. In her post she asked,
“If you have a choice, would you pick your career or your relationship? I have a really good boyfriend, but unfortunately, we are in a long-distance relationship.”
She explained that the reason they’re in a long-distance relationship is because her boyfriend went back to his hometown after he graduated from high school and started his own business.
“He went back to his hometown, but I decided to stay in the city to work. Right now, we are thinking of ending this long-distance relationship and here comes the dilemma”, she said.
She then mentioned that,
“I thought of going back to his hometown and get a job over there, but unfortunately the jobs that my boyfriend found only pay RM2,000 or below. I’m afraid as I still have my PTPTN and car loan to pay off.”
She ended the post saying that she’d feel bad if she were to ask her boyfriend to give up his business as he would have to start again from the bottom.
Many netizens commented on her post and here’s what some of them said:
“You can choose both your career and relationship. Once you’re there, get your boyfriend to recommend you some part time jobs. You’re still young so you can afford to work a little harder. If you think he is good for you, then you shouldn’t give up on this relationship, don’t regret it.”
“You mentioned that it’s unfair for him to start from the bottom if he comes to the city, is this your thought or his? You’re not at the stage where you’re about to get married, please take care of yourself before you think of someone else. You should always focus on your own career. ”
“I think this issue should’ve been discussed prior to starting a new relationship. But of course, you can also work on his business with him.”
