This afternoon, passersby around Atria Mall in PJ heard gunshots being fired.

A video of the incident submitted to us showed two men in helmets lying on the ground, while a few men (said to be police officers) had their guns drawn out and pointed at them.

One of the man sprawled on the ground appeared to be lifeless.

In a second video, the man who’s recording said he initially thought the gunshots were the sound of hail falling.

He said in the video, “I thought it was hailstorm. I thought it was hail falling.”

Watch the video here:

According to Malay Mail, the gunshots heard was from a shootout with the police after the robber attempted a gold heist in Atria Shopping Gallery in Petaling Jaya. The incident occurred about afternoon.

Several men in handcuffs were seen being escorted out of the mall by the police. At least one man was killed after a standoff with the police outside the building.

The police chief in Selangor confirmed that the incident actually took place. The case is currently being investigated.
