The ‘death speed bump’ built at Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, Section 7, Shah Alam, has gone viral after it earned its name as it causes danger to road users.
So much so, that the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will be fixing it in order to ensure the safety of road users.
According to a report by Kosmo, Kota Anggerik State Assembly Member, Najwan Halimi shared that for the time being, MBSA will station some of its members to control traffic in the area.
He added that he had personally gone to inspect the condition of the bump after receiving multiple complaints from the public.
“Yesterday (December 11), I contacted MBSA and today (December 12) I went down to see the condition of the bump for myself at about 10am. MBSA informed me that they will repair the bump in the road,” he said.
Najwan explained that the bump was built following the fatal accident of a Selangor University (Unisel) student in the area in 2019. MBSA had initially agreed to build a bridge there but ended up building the bump as an alternative.
“I hope that MBSA can reconsider the construction of the bridge that has been approved for allocation in 2019.”
This comes after a video compilation of cars soaring over the ‘death bump’ had gone viral online.
