The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has given an update on the shocking shooting incident that took place inside a mall in Setia Alam, Selangor, at around 10pm last night, revealing that they’re now on the hunt for the suspect, believed to be a Malaysian man.

Sinar Harian quoted Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan as saying that the suspect released at least 8 shots inside the mall before fleeing.

Meanwhile, Harian Metro reported that a foreign national in his 30s working as a cleaner at the shopping complex suffered injuries on his leg as a result of the incident and was rushed to the Shah Alam Hospital.

After firing the shots, the suspect fled the scene by stopping a vehicle and forcing the driver to bring him away from the mall.

The Selangor Police Chief asserted,

“The suspect then forced the driver to drop him off by the roadside around the KESAS highway, and the driver then lodged a police report.”
