A recent incident in Sarawak has caught the attention of netizens after the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) acted swiftly against a reckless road user.
According to a Facebook post, Kuching PDRM’s rapid enforcement resulted in the seizure of a rider’s motorcycle and the issuance of a fine.

Extreme modifications and safety risks
According to photos shared in the post, the motorcycle was seen with its rear brake removed, no side mirrors, and a noisy exhaust.
The post also highlighted that such modifications put the rider at risk and endanger other road users.
“Riding motorcycles with these modifications not only risks the rider’s safety but also poses dangers to others and contributes to noise pollution. Congratulations to the Kuching District Police’s BSPT for their efficient and swift enforcement action.
“The Sarawak Contingent Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said they will continue to actively enforce the law and ensure compliance to keep all road users safe and protected,” the post read.

Netizens’ reactions

“Well done, PDRM. If possible, they should keep the motorcycle seized a bit longer, like 10 years.”

“Serves the rider right.”

“Issue the fine immediately! Don’t give them a chance to get away.”

“The exhaust is so loud that it can hurt the ears of people nearby, especially in residential areas. It’s not just babies who get woken up, even older people can’t even have some peace of mind.”

“Alhamdulillah, this helps reduce accidents caused by the lack of brakes. They should seize more motorcycles like this on the road.”
