Just like the rakyat, the Selangor MB was surprised too with the announcement of a state-wide CMCO.

In a statement that was issued by Selangor MB Amirudin Shari on Twitter, he said that the Covid-19 situation is getting worse. He had just finished a meeting with relevant authorities on the decision to put some parts of the Petaling district under CMCO.

When the Defence Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that Selangor, KL and Putrajaya will be placed under CMCO, the MB was visibly shocked and confused. In the meeting, they identified only Klang, Gombak, Hulu Langat and a small portion of Petaling with a worrying number of cases.

Seeing that there are still green zones, the state government aims to give MKN a few suggestions for reconsideration.

The MB ends his statement by saying:

“The state government hopes that everyone will be ready with this change so that we can fight the pandemic together effectively.”

“The state government would also appreciate more effective and conclusive crisis communication involving all authorities so that any actions that will be taken will not produce any uncertainty in operation that will impact the frontliners, rakyat and also SME operators.”

The statewide CMCO will be implemented at midnight. What are your views on it?
