Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming is currently warning the general public in regards to online fraud using his identity.
Taking to his Instagram page, he shared how he has become the target of criminals using artificial intelligence (AI) to impersonate him and spread false information online in an attempt to commit fraud.

His team wrote, “Nga Kor Ming is urging the public not to trust any information that asks for money, investments or personal information in his name. He stressed that he has never asked for money or made investment suggestions to the public through any private messages.”
“With the increasing popularity of AI technology, fraudulent methods have become more intelligent and secretive, so we must always be vigilant. If any suspicious information is found, the victim should report it to the police and MCMC immediately.”

Not only has his likeliness been used on social media platforms to lure potential victims, but the scammers are also utilising his identity on dating applications!
