In her post, @nursajatkamaruzzaman showcased herself wearing a stunning costume inspired by the Langkasuka Malay Kingdom of Kedah.
“My national costume, made by me, is now 60% complete. Inspired by the Langkasuka Malay Kingdom of Kedah. See me in the finals on February 24, 2024, @missmagiqofficial. I’m so excited!”
She announced her participation in the much-awaited 2024 Miss Mardi Gras International Queen (MaGIQ) pageant, which is scheduled for later this week.
The annual transgender beauty pageant is organised by The Filipino Lesbians and Gays Community (FLAGCOM) and Friends.
She’s ready but are we?
The highly anticipated finals will take place on February 24th, and the crowned winner will have the opportunity to shine at the Sydney Mardi Gras parade the following week. As is tradition in many pageants, there will be a segment where contestants present costumes representing their home countries.
Sajat shared with her followers a preview of her elegant national costume that features detailed batik patterns and beautiful gold jewelry, paired with a headwear.
Although the outfit is still a work in progress, Sajat happily mentioned that she’s 60% done with it.
In another post, she shared a behind-the-scenes look at a photoshoot, captioned with,
“First day for @missmagiqofficial 2024! I’m so excited.”
Netizens started flooding the comment section, showing their love and support for the queer figure.
“So beautiful!”
“Even though you can’t do it in Malaysia, you still carry the Malaysian name everywhere you go. I’m so proud of you.”
“You look amazing and the costume is stunning. All the best to you Sajat.”
“All the best Sajat. Triple A for effort.”
