We get it, looking for a vacant parking spot in a crowded shopping mall isn’t fun and nobody likes to do that. Sometimes, you feel like taking advantage of those designated parking lots even if you’re not qualified for it – but no one actually does it of course!
However, you’d be surprised how rude some people are!
Recently, a Singaporean netizen shared a story where he encountered a woman who stole his “Family” parking lot but had the audacity to tell him that she did not care and had “lots of money to burn”. Whut. Family parking lots are generally bigger as parents need the extra space to unload their babies and strollers or even for the elderly to get down easily.
He said, “I brought my family of five (with three kids including baby) to Jurong Point for a movie. We saw that there’s no vacant lot so we waited for awhile, then we saw a family car drive off from the family lot. Suddenly, this aunty decided to just cut in and park at the spot I have been waiting for. Let me clarify, she’s alone and not picking up anyone.”
Dissatisfied, he confronted the woman as soon as he found a parking space in a another normal lot but was shocked that instead of apologising or even being sheepish, she provoked him. Standing near her car which looks like a Mini Convertible, she told him that she was rich.
She added, “I’ve got money to burn,” while accompanied with a nod to affirmed that she is indeed, rich. As the netizen tried to point out the errors of her ways and that she should not take these designated spaces, she pulled out a bunch of car keys to prove her point.
She agreed when he said that he wanted to post the video on Facebook and said, “Fine, go ahead. Everybody knows I got three cars what. Go ahead. Make me famous. Thank you.” He tried to explain to her again that the Family lots were to make it easier for people with families to alight from the car but she refused to listen.
That’s not all, he said that it was inconsiderate for her to park there and she said, “Yes, I am inconsiderate!”
Not long after that, a security guard appeared and told her that she could go off. The lady promptly went into her car and drove off. The netizen tried to stop her but was blocked by the security guard who advised him to let it go.
At the end of the post, he said that he had forwarded the video to management for further action. He added, “We just want people to know the importance of family lots to someone who need it more than anyone who is driving alone. And also because she’s so rude, her reply about her being rich makes me feel like she’s looking down on those poor citizens which is uncalled for.”
Sinchew reported that other netizens managed to find out who the lady was and confirmed that she owns a food company. They also said that she owns two other BMWs in addition to the Mini that she was driving.
