Each of us has a political stance and most of the time, it may not be aligned with other people.

Since it is almost time for the general elections, we are more vocal about it which in turn, might be a little divisive. However, a neighbourhood association in Cheras has taken it upon itself to make sure that the community remains harmonious.

Politics No Enemies

In an image by the Persatuan Penduduk Suadamai Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras, that has been spread on multiple social media platforms, we see some very wise words. They are:

“No matter the political beliefs, don’t hate and not greet each other. We are all part of a community. Retain the harmony.”

They continued: “Today you might be enemies but tomorrow they might be helping to manage your dead body.”

Many netizens agree with the sentiments.

Politics Enemies

“This residents’ association is awesome, they informed everyone earlier so no chaos will erupt. They should be exemplified by all the other neighbourhoods, villages and communities.”

Politics Enemies 2

“It’s not just about managing our dead body. There might be a day when our close ones will be saved by people of a certain race that we thought as enemies.”

Politics Enemies 3

“There are no benefits when fighting about politics to the point of breaking friendships and not talking to relatives. The politicians are all sitting at a table together but the rakyat are busy fighting.”

Politics Enemies 4

“Remember during Covid? We were all barely living and what did the politicians do? Argue about roles and argue about forming the government. In the end, those who helped the rakyat were the rakyat.”

Well, hate certainly has no place in a community. Bravo to this neighbourhood association for doing their part.
