After hearing about some of the experiences patients have lived through in these quarantine centres, it’s no wonder they’re looking for ways to de-stress and take their minds of being away from their loved ones.
Recently, a post uploaded on the Facebook group, We Are Malaysians, showed a man taking several videos of quarantined patients gathered in small groups to play with cards and “gamble” among each other to pass the time during the quarantine.
The post was captioned with, “Quarantine centre or Mini Genting?”. In the first video, the man could be heard in the background saying, “Ok look here this is the hall, haha and you can change your chips here.” The camera then points towards the registration counter for patients, which the man says resembles a bargaining chip counter in a casino.
The man proceeds to take more videos of patients playing cards by their beds and tables, using the quarantine snacks provided as rewards for winning.
In another video, the man can be heard saying, “Let you all see here, it’s so lively and bustling with noise. Can play Chor dai di (Big Two) also.”
These patients seem to be enjoying themselves after finally finding a way to preoccupy their time! Netizens took to the comment section of the video to share their support.
Many netizens commented saying that the quarantine lock-up life isn’t easy. At least the patients are finding ways to entertain themselves instead of doing nothing.
