Malaysians are always on the lookout for free or discounted things, and it comes as no surprise that some of us are careless enough to fall for certain deals that may not actually be true. We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is!
Well, there has been an email with the subject “AirAsia Big Loyalty Bonus” circulating online and AirAsia Group Bhd has issued a warning that it is actually an online scam that the public needs to be aware of.
According to The Star, the budget carrier just released a brief statement today (16 April), urging the public to be cautious when they come across materials like this, and to always refer to AirAsia’s official website and social media channels for the latest company news, activities or promotions.
“AirAsia will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who organise illegal schemes using the AirAsia brand or any of its subsidiaries. AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims arising from false schemes,” it said.
When in doubt or to report suspected scams regarding AirAsia, the public is highly encouraged to get in touch with the company via their official communication channels listed below:
