Prime Minister Urges M’sians To Download Contact Tracing Apps Which Will Help Health Officials

In his latest press conference, our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stressed on the importance of contact tracing. Contact tracing is the process of identification of anyone who’s come in contact with a person who’s been infected, in this case with Covid-19.

He stressed on how our health officials need to know anyone who’s been close with an infected patient and in order to facilitate contact tracing, the government has created two apps that can be downloaded on your smartphones: MySejahtera and MyTrace.

MySejathera was developed by the government to assist in monitoring the Covid-19 outbreak in the country. The application also provides the Health Ministry with the necessary information to plan for early and effective counter-measures.

The MyTrace app works through Bluetooth connection where the app can detect nearby individuals who have the same app installed on it, and will issue a notification if an individual has ever encountered anyone suspected of having the outbreak.
