A family of 3 and an unborn child were involved in a tragic accident in Perak recently. Unfortunately, only 1 survived.
In a viral dashcam footage, a pregnant woman from the passenger seat was thrown out of the car after her husband, who was also the driver, had lost control of it and crashed. As the woman was lying on the road, another vehicle ran over her. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to check on her but instead drove off.
In an official statement by PDRM in Ipoh, District Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin said the accident took place at the Kilometer 264 North-South Expressway near Terowong Menora on Sunday (March 30), just one day before Raya.
Police received a report about the matter at 6:30 PM on the same day.


Initial investigations show that the Perodua Bezza, driven by the 29-year-old husband, lost control due to oil spillage on the road before the vehicle swerved into the drain. The pregnant woman suffered severe injuries and was brought to the ICU at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB).
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at 9:30 AM the next day
Her 2-year-old daughter, who was in the car, and the unborn child also did not make it.

The husband, who also suffers severe injury, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
At the moment, PDRM is currently working with PLUS to review the CCTV footage around the scene of the horrific accident to locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run. The police also urged the public to come forward should they have relevant information about the accident.
