Yesterday, it was officially announced by the Malaysian Election Commission (EC) that polling day for the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14) will take place on Wednesday (9th May 2018).
The announcement left many working Malaysians worried as to how this would affect their leave, especially those working outstation.
However, much to the dismay of some Malaysians, polling day also happens to be on the same day as Bruno Mars’ highly-anticipated concert in KL, and many of them voiced concerns over whether the date of the concert would change or even be cancelled in light of the upcoming elections.
In light of this issue, the official concert organisers, PR Worldwide, have confirmed that the sold-out Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour would carry on as planned on the 9th of May.
In response to the announcement, a number of Malaysian Facebook users called for the concert to be rescheduled instead so that they would have enough time to vote.
Others however, wanted the date to remain as it is due to the fact that some of the concert’s attendees have already paid for travel arrangements.
On the other hand, others pointed out that changing the date would not make a difference because most of them can still vote and enjoy the concert on the same day.
Well, regardless of whether or not the concert is on, let’s all try our best to go out and vote on the 9th of May. What do you think of this issue? Let us know in the comments below!
