Political activist affiliated with Perikatan Nasional (PN), Badrul Hisham Shaharin, or popularly known as Che GuBard, is once again in the spotlight, this time for his comments on powerful positions being filled by non-Malays.

Taking to his Facebook page, he shared how Datuk M. Kumar’s appointment as the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is another step closer towards a “Malaysian Malaysia”, while also bringing up Lieutenant General Datuk Johnny Lim Eng Seng becoming the first Malaysian-Chinese officer to be awarded the rank of Lieutenant General in the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

CP Datuk M. Kumar S. Muthuvelu officially came into his role as CID Director on August 8 (Friday).

He wrote, “First of all, I’m sorry for the delay in congratulating M. Kumar for being appointed as the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department. Shuhaily’s (for CID Director) position was previously held by Masri (Datuk Fadli Marsus). The Head of the Criminal Investigation Department is one of the most powerful positions after the Inspector General of Police. D1 to D14 are all under the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department.”

“This appointment also shows that Malaysia has begun to appreciate a MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA. Regardless of race, individuals are appointed based on meritocracy. The 1967 Setapak Declaration, which is the reference for the struggle of MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA, clearly states against the segregation of society into bumiputera and non-bumiputera groups.”

Merit-based over race-based?

He went on to explain how it is becoming normal to see non-Malays in positions of power.

“Congratulations, today, this is increasingly accepted. Most interestingly, UMNO, which was among those who most opposed it before, is now the reason for Malaysian Malaysia being successfully implemented. Previously, the ATM also appointed the first non-Bumiputera Lieutenant-General,”

“At the beginning, there were whispers expressing annoyance based on race, but it was immediately closed by voices stating that it was not wrong to appoint those who are experts and Malaysia should forget about the racial status,” he said, adding that the opposition is also in support of this out of fear of being called racist.

“Perhaps because now, anyone who speaks about Malay rights will be called racist, and when Bumiputera rights are plundered, it is said to be a fundamental right, meritocracy and so on.”

A non-Malay Prime Minister?

He further explained his belief that more non-Malays will take over positions of power.

“God willing, if this can be continued successfully, then on the basis of having a good non-Bumiputera judge, what’s wrong with us promoting them as the Chief of Justice? After that, there will definitely be a good non-Malay senior police or military officer; we need to promote them to be Commander-in-Chief of the Army or the Chief of Police,”

“The symbol of Allah and Muhammad can only be worn by qualified non-Muslims. So, in the near future, we may be able to see a non-Bumiputera Prime Minister, what’s wrong if they are good for the progress of the country? Congratulations to all who built today’s regime because with the power of today’s regime, the future of Malaysia will change,” he added.

He ended his post by pointing out how Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had highlighted how Malaysia is moving from race-based to need-based in an unshameful manner.
