What a policeman thought was a simple suspect identification turned out to be a bloody chase in Taiwan.
The dreadful incident took place in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 9th February. The wounded victim is identified as Mr Wu, the chief of the police precinct.
Wu was on a daily patrol with his colleague when they were notified of a suspicious personnel driving a red vehicle. With a little effort, the suspicious vehicle was identified and Wu went forward attempting to interrogate the driver.
However, as the officers blocked him off from the front and back of his vehicle, the suspect drove away to avoid confrontation and in the process, the poor policeman was hit.
Worse, the suspect did not bother stopping his car and dragged the policeman through the road as he yelled out for his colleague.
Wu was injured severely on his leg and he was advised by his colleague to go to the hospital but he insisted not to.
A passerby spotted the bloodied cop and asked, “Are you ok?”
“I’m okay.” the police officer responded. The stubborn policeman insisted that he was okay but was interjected by another concerned passerby.
“You better quickly go to the hospital. No, you must go, you are bleeding nonstop.”
The kind passerby who isn’t taking no for an answer told Wu:
“You’re coming with me! You’re bleeding heavily and there’s a hole in your ankle! I’ll drive you there now. “
The lady repeatedly said, “Quickly (get on my bike)!” until the policeman gave in and hopped on her bike.
Wu was then treated in the hospital and it was revealed that his feet were very badly injured. His right ankle also had a big gaping hole in it as a result of the crash.
According to the police, the suspect is a convicted drug and arms criminal and he is also a wanted man. Hence, his desperate attempt to flee from the authorities.
The later part of the video shows that a policeman in casual outfit followed the criminal and cornered him off, before tackling him down to the ground and having him arrested.
The video posted by the police department have garnered positive reviews and praise from the public for apprehending the wanted man. Watch the video below!
