Ever since Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim was elected the 10th PM of Malaysia, he has been receiving LOTS of visits, especially from the leaders of different countries.
Yesterday (September 11), Anwar received a very special visit from an Indian Superstar, which we’re sure our Indian friends are fond of. Meet Superstar Rajinikanth, a veteran Indian actor who is currently in Malaysia and took some time to visit our PM. In a video shared by Thiban Subbramaniam on his X’s account @thiban_ben, both PM and Rajinikanth greeted each other before Anwar imitated the act from Sivaji: The Boss by rubbing his head.
For context, Rajinikanth played Sivaji Arumugam in the 2007 film.
In the 54-second clip, PM and Rajinikanth were seen sharing a conversation happily. On PM’s X post, he revealed that both of them spoke about Rajinikanth future films. Hold your horses, Malaysians. PM is NOT going to take part in Rajinikanth’s future films but it was merely a discussion about the elements that may be included in the Superstar’s future films, based on Anwar’s fights for Malaysians.
“We had a lot to discuss, including the social elements which I fight for. These will be included in his future films,” Anwar explained.
In his post, Anwar also thanked Rajinikanth for his appreciation and understanding when it comes to PM’s fight for the welfare of Malaysians.
For the record, this isn’t Rajinikanth 1st visit to Malaysia. His 2016 film, Kabali was shot at multiple locations in Malaysia in late 2015, and the film was a major success in the country. In Kabali, Rajinikanth played the titular character, an aged gangster based in KL who was released from prison, 25 years after being falsely accused of starting a massacre at a local temple.
This explains why the clip was edited with Kabali’s theme song – Neruppuda. You can watch the clip below.

A meeting between world leaders is common but a discussion between an actor and our PM about the possible elements in his future films based on PM’s fights for the people is rare. What else do you think can be an inspiration for future films based on Anwar’s term in office?
