With the success of the MCO and the CMCO at controlling the spread of Covid-19 in Malaysia, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today has announced that the CMCO will be extended to 9 June 2020. The new date means that Muslims in Malaysia will have to celebrate their Hari Raya differently this year.
Although most of us will not be able to balik kampung, PM revealed that we can still visit our relatives and loved ones who are currently living in the same state or neighbourhood as us. Lucky-lah for those whose kampung is nearby! I can’t go back to Kedah, so sad.
However, each house cannot cater to more than 20 individuals at one time and a big open house is not allowed too. Personally, maybe we should cap the number at 10, just to be safe.
PM has reminded everybody to keep a safe distance during these visits, and to always put your health first.
We do believe that if it is unnecessary to visit anyone particular this Hari Raya, then don’t do it. We are still in the midst of fighting the spread of Covid-19. Hence it is unwise to have a get-together. You don’t want to start a Ketupat Cluster, right?
