The nation was shocked by the news of a 16-year-old female student who was stabbed to death yesterday (14 October) in a school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The victim, who was repeatedly stabbed, had at least 50 wounds that were caused by sharp weapons on her body.

The suspect’s brother tried to stop and calm him down
The victim was stabbed in the ladies’ washroom of the school, and while many students tried to run away from the suspect, who wandered around the school with blood on his hands and shirt, some tried to stop and calm him down, including his brother, who is studying at the same school.
According to the victim’s brother, the suspect has always harboured romantic feelings for the victim, and he has a lot of her photos in his phone gallery.
The suspect was said to have confessed his feelings to the victim the night before the attack, but was ultimately rejected, which enraged him, on top of the study pressure that he was already going through.
Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, said that the victim was repeatedly stabbed by two different weapons, which have since been confiscated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
After the fatal attack, witnesses alleged that the suspect yelled, “I killed someone”, and wandered around the school.

The suspect was easily agitated, barely spoke to anyone
According to the suspect’s classmates, they claimed that the suspect often spent time on his own and barely spoke to anyone, as well as usually sleeping in the classroom, as per reports by China Press, Sin Chew, and Sinar Harian.
“He (the suspect) is usually quiet. When his classmates approached him and tried to chat with him, he ignored them. He was easily angered and irritated, making his classmates afraid to approach him.”
They said that at the time of the incident, the whole class was sitting for an exam. During the exam, the suspect raised his hand and said that he wanted to go to the toilet.
However, the suspect did not return to the classroom after about 30 minutes. Later, they heard screams and learned that a stabbing incident had occurred.

The suspect was also heard telling his friend, “You see what happens later,” before the attack.
The autopsy for the victim is still ongoing, and as of 9 AM today (15 October), the suspect was brought to the court in Petaling Jaya for a remand application.
