It’s day three of MCO 2.0 and the battle against Covid-19 in Malaysia is not ending anytime soon. With the Ministry of Health and our frontliners working tirelessly to flatten the curve, we can only wait and hope that the daily numbers will begin to decrease in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Malaysians all across the Klang Valley and in other states under the Movement Control Order (MCO) have been doing their part by staying home, and it’s evident in the empty roads and shopping malls that were congested with people just a few weeks ago.
The Ministry of Health shared several photos taken at 1pm on 14 January showing empty roads in the KL city centre.
Not only are the roads empty, but popular shopping malls and common areas that are often visited by Malaysians look like ‘ghost towns’, with some already having their Chinese New Year decorations set up.
As MCO 2.0 is set to last until 26 January, and maybe even beyond that, let us all stay at home and hope that the situation gets better. But if you do have to go out, remember to mask up and avoid close contact with other people. We can do this!
