Flavourful delicacies from across the globe and well-preserved authentic cuisines, this face-lifted food paradise from the past isn’t something you’d want to miss.
Based on the Malaysia Gazette, the Chairman of Kuala Lumpur Hawkers and Petty Traders Association, Datuk Ang Say Tee shared that historic site had lost it’s tourists and the vendors, their income.
“We introduced the night market concept so that the traders who used to sell other good can now sell special food. This concept is taken after studying the night market and snacks culture in Taiwan,” he said.
He also added that the street will now offer food from vendors mended exclusively by local cooks.
Even though Petaling Street is back on track, they still need support from the general public, according to their official Facebook page.
“Today is the first day of business operations, many people are still unaware probably because of the outbreak or that they don’t want to leave their homes yet. Looking forward to having more creative food and drink traders to help bring the street back to life. To those of you who have yet to come, bring your friends along! It’s up to everyone to revive our economy,” they wrote.
