The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is offering a reward up to RM20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for setting a kitten on fire in video footage that went viral online.
The Malaysia Animal Association has also offered a reward of RM10,000 previously for anyone with info on the culprit who set the kitten on fire, bringing the total reward to RM30,000.
“The terror and agony that this helpless kitten must have felt as he or she was set alight is hard to imagine,” says Jason Baker, the Senior Vice President of PETA.
“PETA hopes that the rewards will help encourage anyone with information about this cruel and callous crime to come forward immediately so that this kitten’s killer can be held accountable and stopped from hurting anyone else,” he added.
This horrific incident happened in Pahang, according to reports.
“Animals are not ours to abuse in any way” as written in PETA’S motto.
PETA warns that animal abusers are a danger to everyone. These brutal animal abusers take their issues out on whoever is available to them, humans or other animals, demonstrating a deeply worrying psychological state – and they must be caught before they act again.
To anyone who has information about the case, you are urged to contact PETA at Info@PETAAsiaPacific.com or the Malaysia Animal Association via Whatsapp at +60120901097. Visit PETA’s website or follow their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more information about helping animals.
Animals are our best friends, please protect them at all costs!
