In Thailand, people have started presenting boba tea as holy offerings in temples. Yep, you read that right. A picture of various bubble teas as holy offerings was posted by a Thai Facebook page known as Payunbud. The picture went viral on social media recently and it has garnered 8.6K shares at the time of writing!
It’s part of the Thai culture to present offerings during prayers in temples. Usually, when they pray for their wishes to come true, they make a promise to the gods that they would give offerings in return, if the wishes were granted.
The offerings are generally foods and flower garlands. Now, it looks like boba tea has joined the list!
A lot of netizens were really impressed with the offerings and they shared their stories in the comment sections of the post.
One netizen shared that when she was praying, she made a wish and if the wish came true, she would offer five bubble tea drinks as holy offerings.
Another netizen responded with a tweet and it featured a picture of a bubble tea from a famous Thai franchise at shrine. Why, you ask?
In the tweet, the netizen shared that she had prayed and wished to get a job soon. Her wish came true, and she landed a job with an impressive salary. Then, she offered the bubble tea as a holy offering.
Some believe that as long as the offering is given with a genuine heart, they will be blessed. This goes to show that the world is unique and full of diverse people!
