Chow revealed the matter in a reply to a written question by his predecessor and current Air Putih assemblyperson Lim Guan Eng at the Penang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Monday (19 May), as reported by the State Government’s official mouthpiece, Buletin Mutiara.

Meanwhile, during a brief media conference yesterday (20 May), the Penang Chief Minister elaborated,

“The 15 vehicles are allocated for the official use of 10 state executive councillors and three ex-officio members, namely the Penang State Secretary, the Penang State Legal Adviser, and the Penang State Financial Officer.

“Another two are for the official use of the State Legislative Assembly Speaker, State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker,”

Furthermore, Chow was quoted by local media as saying that each Toyota Camry costs RM220,783.

The previous official State Government vehicles were also Toyota Camrys and had been in service for over 5 years.
