10th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Ceremony of Awarding the Deed of Appointment, Ceremony of Taking the Oath of Office and Loyalty, and Oath of Secrecy as Prime Minister will be happening at 5pm at Istana Negara.
And with that comes the worry of demonstrations from those who were against the appointment of Anwar.
The Brickfields district police chief, ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor has since urged the people to remain calm and not to cause any unnecessary drama or provocations surrounding the ceremonies, in a statement shared to Facebook.
“The public is also advised not to upload any posts to social media that may cause annoyance or misunderstandings among the general public and not to make any speculations or illegal actions,”
“Strict action will be taken by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), especially the Brickfields Police, against any individuals who takes part in provocations or raises issues including racism and religion,” he said.
