It was recently reported that a woman, initially thought to be a foreign national but since confirmed as a Malaysian citizen, has allegedly been living at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 for a whole year.

The woman was also seen arguing with other visitors at the airport while an elderly person attempted to calm her down. Now, the authorities are stepping in.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the police have confirmed that the woman, who was allegedly living at KLIA Terminal 1, has a mental health card.

The Deputy KLIA District Police Chief, Superintendent Albany Hamzah, shared that the woman is local and has since been detained.

“We arrested the woman on 18 December (Thursday). An examination revealed that she possesses a mental health card, and further action was taken by transferring her to the Kajang Hospital,” he said.

No one truly knows why she was at the airport

The actual reason for the woman’s presence at KLIA Terminal 1 has yet to be determined.
