There has always been a debate over female drivers and their alleged behaviour on the road in Malaysia. Let’s be honest, female drivers are just like any other drivers, there are good ones and there are bad ones.

But, one traffic police officer does not agree.

A Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) traffic officer is now going viral for saying that women drivers can’t keep their cool at traffic stops.

Taking to his Facebook page, Abam Trafik wrote, “If I stop a woman driver, I will pay close attention to her face. If it’s not convincing, I will immediately order them to stop at the side (of the road). Neutralise the gear and pull the handbrake. When they are calm, then I’ll check their license.”

“It’s not anything but if they are nervous, they cannot talk. Later, it’s not just their hands that’s rummaging through their bag to look for their licenses. With their feet, they’ll wander as well and hit the accelerator. At that point, they and their car engines will both scream for help even though I just asked for their license.”

While many Malaysian women agreed that they would feel nervous when stopped by a traffic police officer, others shared that traffic stops are normal thing hence there is no reason for them to get nervous.

“I am a woman driver, and I am not as what you mentioned above.”

“It’s not even scary. We’re used to it.”

“Terribly bullying. Not all lady drivers.”

trafik 4

“Not all are nervous, bro.”

What do you think? Do you agree with the traffic police officer?
