The actions of a few parties seeking popularity by spreading false information about issues, including the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir, can disrupt the investigations being carried out by the authorities.
According to a report by Harian Metro, Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, shared that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is trying its best to ensure that the law is being upheld.

IGP says certain parties seeking popularity by spreading false information are disrupting the police’s investigations
“What worries me the most at this time is the actions of a few people who always chase popularity by making things up or spreading issues through videos on social media sites such as TikTok and so on. This also gives an incorrect picture of ongoing cases, such as the Zara (Qairina) case,” he said.
Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail went on to explain that the task of enforcement teams is to conduct thorough investigations and leave it to the court to determine the offence according to the law.
Actions have been taken by PDRM to ensure transparency and integrity
“I hope that the public can accept the actions that have been taken by the police in ensuring the transparency of investigations and the integrity of PDRM officers in carrying out their assignments according to the law,”
“We have already charged 5 school students in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We will leave this matter to the court to determine whether an offence has been committed, which may require a legal decision in court,” he added.
He also thanked the public for their concern and for providing information regarding suspicious matters for further action by the authorities.
