The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has released a statement regarding a viral video that has been circulating on social media recently.
The video showed a man riding a motorcycle on a road in Melaka while being nude.
In a statement by the Melaka police chief Dato’ Zainol bin Haji Samah, PDRM took note of the 30-second video on Friday and looked into the matter.
According to investigations, the police found that while the video went viral recently, it was actually recorded on December 14 last year.
Furthermore, the individual riding the motorcycle has been identified as a local man aged 25 years old.
The investigation further revealed that the man has a record of mental illness since he was in school.
The Melaka police chief thus advises the public to not misuse social media to recirculate old videos so as to respect the sensitivity of the individual’s family members.
