A scuffle broke out after Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers encountered three suspicious individuals and approached them in Melaka, with one of the suspects swinging a machete at an officer.
The incident occurred during the Ops Casa Melaka operation earlier today (24 November), whereby the police team was patrolling an oil palm plantation near Taman Tambun Perdana, Jalan Tambun/Durian Tunggal, Alor Gajah, Melaka.

The police officers fired shots in self-defence
In a statement, Melaka Police Chief DCP Dato’ Dzulkhairi Bin Mukhtar said that when the police operation team identified themselves, the suspects immediately became aggressive, and a struggle ensued.

He added that one officer was injured on his left arm after a long parang was swung at him. To defend themselves, the police fired shots at the suspects, who later sustained gunshot injuries.
“The police then conducted a tactical search of the area and found that three males had been shot. The team contacted the IPK Melaka Operations Room to request assistance from a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and an ambulance to the scene,” the statement said.
During the inspection, authorities found items on the suspects, including three machetes, a black bag, three face masks, gloves, and an iron cutter.

All three suspects were aged between 24 and 29
Further checks revealed that two of the men were local citizens from Melaka, and one of them had a prior criminal record. All three were aged between 24 and 29.
“The first suspect, aged 29, has 39 previous criminal and drug records and is currently wanted. The second suspect was found to have 12 prior criminal and drug records,” Dzulkhairi said.

Dzulkhairi added that the group is linked to a total of 20 robbery cases in Melaka, 1 case in Negeri Sembilan, and 2 cases in Selangor between 2024 and 2025, with total estimated losses of RM1,350,000.
