According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Pasir Puteh District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria, shared that, at about 7:35 PM, his department received a call from the public informing them that a boy was suspected to have drowned at the mouth of the river.

“Acting on this information, a team of officers from the Cherang Ruku Police Station and Pasir Puteh IPD went to the scene of the incident. We found the victim’s body at the face of a cliff, where further inspections around the area of the incident bore no criminal elements that could be linked (to this case),” he said.

The boy’s father tragically found the body

He added that the child’s body was actually found by his 38-year-old father, after he was told that his son was missing. Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria was informed that the father had conducted the search based on footprints found in the area.
